Recently, Petra Coach presented a webinar, “LeaderSHIFT: Keeping Your Leadership Adaptable in Rapidly Changing Situations” featuring Gina Mollicone-Long.

If you’re a business leader, you need to see this.

You can find the full recording here.

To augment the recording, we noted takeaways and tips from the presentation. The worksheets used in today’s session can also be downloaded HERE.

What happens in a crisis with respect to change?

The Process of Change

The two things you will need to do in order to change:

  1. Get out of your comfort zone
  2. Have the desire to change and the willingness to do what it takes

When you keep going, you break through to the new behavior.

Then, you need to master that behavior until it becomes the dominant way you do it.

Actions Produce Results

Thoughts > Feelings > Actions > Results

Start with these steps:

  • Focus on what you want
  • Choose positive emotions
  • Physiology of power

…Then you can take action

“You get what you focus on, so focus on what you want.”

The Word “Don’t”

  • The mind only focuses on what comes after the word don’t
  • When don’t is in front of something, you will focus on what comes after that
  • Say what you mean, and not what you don’t

Emotional Guidance System

“Snap” out of it:

Stop what you are doing

Notice what you are doing

Alter the emotion

Proceed with what you were doing

Freeing Your Worry

Instead of focusing on an event turning out badly, focus on it being completed successfully

Stress is something you do, not something you have.
