Just like his favorite quote from Thomas Edison, “opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like hard work,” this Tennessee native believes in buckling down and DOING the work!

Matt has spent 20 years as a Controller in companies ranging from accounting solutions to automobile insurance. In one of these roles, he established an accounting department and managed the financial aspects of the company as it grew into 12 affiliate companies in several states. Matt has also dabbled in the entrepreneurial world when he and his wife Tonya founded and managed a bookkeeping company serving small-intermediate sized businesses. Within the business, he provided accounting, technology, payroll, and management services to clients.

Matt earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lipscomb University in 1989, with a double major in Accounting and Management. In his time outside the office, he enjoys boating with his family on Old Hickory Lake and singing bad karaoke with friends.
