The Function Accountability Chart (FACe) is focused on the top level of the organization. A FACe lists the common set of functions that exist within each business, along with functions specific to your organization. Each function is then assigned a set of expected results and leading indicators with one single owner who is accountable for the health of that function.

It’s one thing to “check the box” and call this done by filling in the chart. However, it should be a document that is operationalized inside your business at all levels, even down to individual roles specific to your organization. And, it should drive the components of your strategic plan – targets, critical numbers, key performance indicators, and scorecards, which are reported out in your meeting rhythms.
